Amazon has released the first photos of their upcoming series reboot of the superhero comedy The Tick. The photos feature our first look at Peter Serafinowicz in the title role along with a photo of Whoopi Goldberg interviewing a superhero.
This seems like such an odd version of The Tick. Don't get me wrong, I think Serafinowicz will be great in the role, but the original live-action version of the character — Patrick Warburton — was so perfect for the part. I'll admit I was a little disappointed when he didn't come back to reprise his role. I'm still excited for the series though, and it will be cool to see how it turns out. The new costume is definitely interesting.
I've also got an updated synopsis that you can check out below:
In a world where superheroes have been real for decades, an underdog accountant with zero powers comes to realize his city is owned by a global super villain long-thought dead. As he struggles to uncover this conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero. The Tick stars Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy), Griffin Newman (Vinyl), Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen), Valorie Curry (House of Lies), Yara Martinez (Jane the Virgin) and Brendan Hines (Scorpion). The Tick is executive produced by Ben Edlund (Supernatural), Barry Josephson (Bones) and Barry Sonnenfeld (A Series of Unfortunate Events), directed by Wally Pfister (The Dark Knight), and written by Edlund. The Tick is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television.
Check out the photos and let us know what you think of the new costume.
