First Look at the Martin Luther King Jr. Drama SELMA

Paramount Pictures has released a couple of stills giving us our first look at their upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. drama Selma. The film tells the story of King Jr.‘s fight to pass the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

David Oyelowo plays the civil rights leader, and it has an impressive supporting cast that also includes Carmen Ejogo as Coretta Scott King, Tom Wilkinson as President Lyndon B. Johnson, with Tim Roth, Giovanni RibisiCuba Gooding Jr.CommonWendell Pierce, and Lorraine Toussaint. The photos give us a look at some of these actors. Here's a short synopsis:

SELMA is the story of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s historic struggle to secure voting rights for all people – a dangerous and terrifying campaign that culminated with the epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, and led to President Johnson signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

The movie will be released in theaters on December 25th.
