First Official Concept Art For BLADE RUNNER Sequel

As a huge fan of Blade Runner, the idea of a sequel is both exciting and dreadful. With the cast and script locked down, the movie is going to start shooting soon. Director Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners, Sicario, Enemy) has a huge film to live up to, I can't imagine what the amount of pressure to get this right must be like. I have no doubt the film is going to look amazing, because Ridley Scott is one of the many producers on the project. My biggest worry is the story, but with the original writing team of Scott himself, Hampton Fancher, and franchise newcomer Michael Green involved, I'm hopeful.

It's going to be interesting to seeing Harrison Ford reprise his role across from Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, and Dave Bautista. Part of me wishes Ford wasn't involved so the mystery of the first film's ending stays ambiguous. Today, the first concept art for the film was released via EW. The signature style looks to be intact — the scene is wet, dark, foggy, and peppered with light. All fingers crossed...I hope it's good.

The yet-to-be-titled Blade Runner sequel will open in theaters October 6, 2017.
