First Promo Teaser for DRAGON BALL SUPER

The first promo spot for the upcoming Dragon Ball Super anime series has been released, and it looks like fans of the franchise have something really cool to look forward too.

The new series reunites the franchise's iconic characters, and the story takes place after Goku’s battle with Majin Buu and follows him as he attempts to maintain Earth’s peace.

The series is being overseen by Dragon Ball’s original creator, Akira Toriyama, and produced with Fuji Television. It "will draw on its historic past to create a bold, new universe welcoming to fans and endearing to new viewers."

Producer for Fuji Television Osamu Nozaki previously said in a statement,

"Having loved Dragon Ball since childhood, it is very exciting to be a part of this project. Mr. Toriyama has developed a plot that’s not only a dream come true for Dragon Ball’s millions of fans, but one that will foster in a new generation of viewers.”

Dragon Ball was first introduced in 1984 as a manga in the Weekly Shonen Jump, before being adapted into an anime series. Over the years it has established a huge fan base.

Apparently, this new series is the first Dragon Ball anime that has been developed in 18 years. I didn't realize it had been that long! There's no word on when the series will be released in the States, but you can watch the Japanese promo below. Below that I included a translation of what is being said.
