Funny SNL Video Spoofs YA Dystopian Films - THE GROUP HOPPER
One of the best parts of Saturday Night Live this past weekend was a video segment that hilariously spoofed a few of the Young Adult dystopian films that Hollywood has been making. It's called "The Group Hopper," and some of the films that it parodies include Divergent, The Giver, The Maze Runner, and The Hunger Games. The video basically mashes together all of these films into one epic adventure. It's got everything you love or don't love about these kinds of movies. It is kind of funny that these YA movies all kind of have the same setting and plot devices. Bill Hader was the host of the show, and I loved his mashup character of Effie Trinket and President Snow. It reminded me of something that the Monty Python comedy troupe would come up with.
