It's been a long time since we've seen any movement on the big screen adaptation of the video game Kane & Lynch. The project has been in and out of development a few years. The latest news is that Gerard Butler is in talks to join the project as Kane. The reports also say that Millennium films is looking to get Vin Diesel in the role of Lynch, but there's no information on how that is progressing.
F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job, Be Cool) is still set to direct the film. Before today's announcement, Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx were supposed to star, but that obviously didn't pan out. Gary and Butler both worked together on the film Law Abiding Citizen.
The story follows Adam "Kane" Marcus, a mercenary who makes an unlikely alliance with a schizophrenic killer named James Lynch. The duo is forced on a mission to retrieve a stolen microchip.
This could make for a fun movie, and it would be cool to see Butler and Diesel starring alongside each other.
