GHOSTBUSTERS Theatrical Re-Release and 30th Anniversary Blu-ray Coming!
We're going to get to see Ghostbusters on the big screen again! How awesome is that?! This is one of my favorite movies of all time, and I haven't seen it on a big screen since it was first released. I'm so excited right now I can hardly contain myself, especially since I'll get to take my kids to see it with me. They love this movie just as much as I do.
The news comes from Entertainment Weekly, who says it will be shown on more than 700 theaters on August 29th in celebration of the film's 30th Anniversary. They also reveal it will be released on Blu-ray on September 16th featuring some brand new content, including deleted scenes and conversations with director Ivan Reitman and star Dan Aykroyd. Sony’s president of worldwide distribution had this to say in a statement:
"Ghostbusters is still one of our studio’s most beloved franchises. I was lucky enough to work on the release of the film on its first run, so it’s a real thrill for me to see that it’s still connecting with audiences everywhere. On the big screen or in home entertainment, this is a great movie to experience again and again."
