God Help Us: Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, and Kate Hudson Up For Garry Marshall's MOTHER'S DAY

Apparently not content with inflicting his vision for Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve on the world, director Garry Marshall is back with another holiday-themed movie: Mother's Day. And just like those previous two projects, this one will tell intersecting stories about the lives of disparate characters as the holiday approaches.

Deadline reports that Julia Roberts (who worked with Marshall on Pretty Woman, Runaway Bride, and Valentine's Day) is signed on to the movie, while Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, and Jason Sudeikis are in negotiations to join her. I think you can tell from my headline that I'm not exactly thrilled with this prospect, but I'm obviously aware that this is not catering to me or my demographic in any way. I'd expect this kind of thing from Roberts, Aniston, and Hudson, but I'm a little bummed that Sudeikis — who seems to be making great choices lately — is likely going to be a part of this movie. That's just me being selfish, though: this is obviously a chance for him to expand his audience, hang out with his buddy Aniston (with whom he's worked on both Horrible Bosses films and We're The Millers), and make some money, so I can't really begrudge him the choice too much.

Do you think there's any way Mother's Day will end up being good?
