HBO Developing More Episodes of THE JINX, A New 1970s Porn Series From THE WIRE Creator, and More

With Game of Thrones wrapped up for the season and the highly-anticipated True Detective season two set to debut this Sunday night along with new shows like Ballers and The Brink, HBO seems like it's at the top of its game. The channel is home to one of my favorite pieces of media I've ever consumed — the addictive docuseries The Jinx — and now THR says that they're developing more episodes of the Robert Durst-centered show.

The news comes in a long profile about the future plans of the premium channel. No details were offered other than simply that HBO has "plans for more" of the show. Will filmmaker Andrew Jarecki return, or will this new season of The Jinx focus on Durst's current trial, which Jarecki and his fellow filmmakers are involved in as witnesses? That would certainly be a different angle and if they can get some prison interviews with Durst, it's easy to see how that could regain the rabid following of the show's first season. (You can read my thoughts about Jarecki's feature film All Good Things, which inspired The Jinxright here.)

HBO is also attempting to lure sports personality Bill Simmons (who was recently ousted from ESPN and Grantland) for a new show, and they're also working on a 1970s-set porn series from The Wire creator David Simon, which sounds like it could be amazing. Simon taking on a Boogie Nights-era TV show? I really have no idea what that would look like, but I'm on board.

The whole THR piece is worth a read, but in the meantime, what do you all think? Looking forward to more episodes of The Jinx?
