IKEA Style Manual for Lightsaber Extension Kit by Doaly

If you haven’t seen the message Stephen Colbert gave last night to all the haters out there claiming the bladed hilt lightsaber featured in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser is impractical, you need to watch that now. What’s more interesting, though, is that his explanation of how the lightsaber functions pretty much aligns with this piece of art that was released the day after the trailer. The art was created by Doaly, and it parodies IKEA’s dummy proof instructions — I usually toss the manual out and just wing it, ya know? Like a man.

We’ve long been a fan of Doaly and his work with the Poster Posse. His IKEA send-up is much different than the colorful, highly detailed work we’re used to seeing from him, but he had a funny concept and nailed the execution, from the Swedish umlaut to the hairless, naked guy with no genitals. There are only a couple things missing: the allen wrench and the bags of frozen meatballs I shove onto my cart right before I hop in line.
