Intellivision Releases a New Intense Video for the Amico

During Gamescom 2019, Intellivision released a video about their upcoming home console called Amico. This console is being designed to be extremely simple with great games that family and friends can enjoy together. Each game will cost between $2.99 and $9.99 with 5 games coming with the Amico. Also, the games are being designed so that there is no DLC or additional purchases. In addition, I mentioned that the Amico is being designed for families, well, all the games will be rated E or E10+, encourage cooperation, and will not feature violence or bad language. In addition, the Amico will come with 2 controllers, but will have an app that can be used to connect up to 8 mobile devices.

Now, the video made me chuckle a little because Tommy Tallarico (Intellivision’s CEO) talks about wanting the Amico to be for casual users and families, but the video is so intense that it feels like it’s geared more towards the “hardcore” gamer. He may have wanted to take a page out of Nintendo’s book from when they were advertising the Wii.

I am still very intrigued by the Amico. It looks like there’s an updated version of Moon Patrol which I could really get behind. For me it all comes down to the price at this moment. What do you think though?
