Intense New Trailer For THE WALK Made My Palms Sweat
Robert Zemeckis' upcoming film The Walk looks freakin' amazing. This latest trailer for the film was so intense that while I watched it, my palms started sweating. I do have a fear of heights though, and there are a couple points in the film where I started to get that feeling of vertigo. Especially in that opening shot. Good grief, this movie is going to be extremely intense.
I'm a big fan of the films Zemeckis has made over the years, and it looks like he did an incredible job bringing this story to life. Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars as real-life daredevil Philippe Petit in the film, who in 1974 walked the void between the World Trade Center towers in New York City on a wire.
The movie also stars Ben Kingsley, Charlotte Le Bon, and James Badge Dale. Here's the synopsis:
Twelve people have walked on the moon, but only one man – Philippe Petit – has ever, or will ever, walk in the immense void between the World Trade Center towers. Guided by his real-life mentor, Papa Rudy (Ben Kingsley), and aided by an unlikely band of international recruits, Petit and his gang overcome long odds, betrayals, dissension and countless close calls to conceive and execute their mad plan. Robert Zemeckis, the director of such marvels as Forrest Gump, Cast Away, Back to the Future, Polar Express and Flight, again uses cutting edge technology in the service of an emotional, character-driven story.
