HBO has released a full trailer for writer Damon Lindelof's new series The Leftovers. This thing looks like it going to be a really great and intense series. There's really nothing not to like about this trailer, unless these kinds of shows just aren't your thing. The story picks up in the aftermath of a Rapture-type event that has caused the disappearance of millions of people around the world. The show has a very unsettling feel to it and there's a lot of tension, panic and insanity packed into this trailer. The show stars Justin Theroux and Liv Tyler. Here's the synopsis:
When 2% of the world’s population abruptly disappears without explanation, the world struggles to understand just what they’re supposed to do about it. The new drama series ‘The Leftovers’ is the story of the people who didn’t make the cut.
Based on the bestselling novel by Tom Perrotta, ‘The Leftovers’ follows Kevin Garvey, a father of two and the chief of police in a small New York suburb, as he tries to maintain some semblance of normalcy when the notion no longer applies. The series is executive produced by ‘Lost’ co-creator Damon Lindelof, together with Perrotta and ‘Friday Night Lights’ executive producers Peter Berg and Sarah Aubrey. Lindelof serves as the series showrunner.
The first season has ten episodes, and it's set to premiere on Sunday, June 29th! Does this look like a show that you'd want to watch?
