Is Lucasfilm Planning to Release INDIANA JONES 5 in 2018?

We know that Lucasfilm and Disney are going to make a new Indiana Jones film, but whether that movie is going to be a remake or a sequel has yet to be seen. A month ago, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that movie "will one day be made inside this company. When it will happen, I’m not quite sure. We haven’t started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it."

We now have a rumor from AICN that Lucasfilm has penciled in a release date for the fifth Indiana Jones movie in the fourth quarter of 2018. The news comes from one of the sites "long-time and trustworthy source."

This news kind of contradicts what Kennedy's husband and film producer Frank Marshall recently told /Film when he said:

“No, there’ve been no discussions on that. We’ve had no discussions on ‘Indy 5′ to date.”

Well, Kennedy did say that "we are talking about it," and let's face it: they have to talk about it! It's Indiana Jones, which is a huge franchise that will guarantee Disney even more money. It's a franchise they would be stupid to ignore.

2018 seems like it's far enough away to where they could get everything together that they need to make it happen. As for the rumors regarding Chris Pratt taking on the role of the iconic role previously played by Harrison Ford, or Steven Spielberg coming back to direct it, that still has yet to be confirmed as well.

As a longtime fan of this franchise, I'm 100% on board with a new Indiana Jones movie, especially with George Lucas having limited to no involvement with the project.
