It's Not A Given That Marvel TV Characters Will Appear in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

I'll admit that when I first heard about Avengers: Infinity War, I immediately assumed that whoever ended up writing and directing that movie would include all of the live-action Marvel characters they possibly could in an end-all be-all battle against Thanos. But it turns out the inclusion of the Marvel/Netflix TV characters isn't a given, and in fact may not actually happen at all.

The Russo Brothers spoke with BadTaste.it (via ScreenCrush) and didn't go as far as to promise that it wouldn't happen, but they also didn't seem especially thrilled at the idea of including even more characters than the ones they're already dealing with:

"The Marvel Universe is sprawling - the Marvel Cinematic Universe is enormous. Just think of all the characters that haven’t been introduced yet that are going to be introduced by the time that we’re working on Infinity War. We have a tough task just telling the stories of the characters who exist [on the big screen] in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, let alone adding the entire Marvel Television universe.
Anything is possible in Marvel. It’s certainly something we’re considering. But our focus is on telling the stories of the characters that currently exist on the movie side."

It's entirely possible that at one point, the plan was to include all of these characters in the two-part movie. But now that Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios have broken free from the reign of Ike Perlmutter (who now runs Marvel TV), it seems less likely that Feige would be interested in bringing Netflix characters like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, or The Punisher into one of his films. As they say above, anything is possible, but I wouldn't be surprised if Infinity War only includes movie MCU characters.
