James Franco to Star in J.J. Abrams and Stephen King's 11/22/63 Mini-Series

James Franco has been cast in J.J. Abrams and Stephen King's upcoming Hulu series 11/22/63. This will be Franco's biggest series commitment since General Hospital. The actor got his big break on television in Judd Apatow's beloved series Freaks and Geeks.

I was already excited for this series when it was first announced, but I never thought they'd get a star as big as Franco to bring it to life. He's perfect for the part he's playing, though, so I'm glad that they got him.

The story follows a high school English teacher named Jake Epping, who will be played by Franco. He travels back in time and tries to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. This comes along with several challenges and his mission is threatened by Lee Harvey Oswald, falling in love, and a past that doesn’t want to be changed.

Bridget Carpenter (Friday Night Lights, Parenthood) is writing the script and she will executive produce the drama alongside King and Bad Robot's Bryan Burk. There's a lot of great top-notch talent involved with this project, and it's sure to be a big hit.
