Japan Accepts USA's Giant Robot Duel Challenge!

Videos JapanRobot by Joey Paur

Last week MegaBots, Inc., a company based in the United States, challenged Suidobashi Heavy Industries of Japan to a freakin' real life giant robot duel. Suidobashi Heavy Industries has responded, and they accept!

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are going to get to get to watch two giant robots battle it out in real life! My geek dreams are coming true! Their response to the challenge was playful and included little jabs at the US robot design.

Suidobashi Heavy Industry founder Kogoro Kurata said:

“Come on guys, make it cooler...  Just building something huge and sticking guns on it. It’s….Super American."

The other thing is they don't want their robot to just be in a manned mech-style paintball battle. They want actual metal on metal melee combat!

“If we’re gonna win this, I want to punch them to scrap and knock them down to do it.”

That makes complete sense. Don't get me wrong, I love the USA, but Japan is probably going to win this thing. This is the response that came with the video:

On behalf of Japan, we accept your challenge.

But on one condition: That melee combat be a part of the fight.
Organize the duel, Megabots, and we’ll be there to battle it out.

This duel stands to go down in history as the world’s first giant robot battle.
Let’s make sure it’s something for the historians to write about.

Hell yeah!

Megabots, thank you for issuing the video. On behalf of Japan, we accept your challenge. But on one condition: That melee combat be a part of the fight. Organize the duel, Megabots, and we'll be there to battle it out. This duel stands to go down in history as the world's first giant robot battle.
