Jason Sudeikis in Talks to Join Heist Comedy with Galifianakis, WIlson, and Wiig

Jason Sudeikis is in talks to join Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson, and Kristen Wiig in a heist comedy to be directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite). Sudeikis has worked with all three of the other stars before, appearing with Wilson in Hall Pass and Galifianakis in The Campaign. He worked with Wiig for several years on SNL and was visibly emotional when she bid her farewell to the show. The project, which used to be called Loomis Fargo, is based on an original screenplay by Emily Spivey, but a new script was written by Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer. There is no title at the moment.

The script is based on the true story of a disgruntled armored car driver who stole nearly $20 million from his company’s vault. When his comrades double-cross him, he is left alone and on the run, and his thoughts turn toward revenge.

There is no word on what part Sudeikis would play, but the story sounds like it will make for a good movie. The film’s producers include Lorne Michaels and Danny McBride, so there is a ton of great comedy talent attached. I would love to see Hess apply his quirky, offbeat style to a story with a little more structure than his previous films, and a heist film might be perfect for that. All things considered, I am pretty excited to see what the talented group of people can bring us.
