Joe Carnahan Looking to Direct BAD BOYS 3

Joe Carnahan, the director of Smokin' Aces, The A-Team and The Grey, is looking to direct Bad Boys 3. I guess if anyone is capable of taking over Michael Bay's crazy, over-the-top action franchise, it's Carnahan.

The news comes from Deadline who also reports that a draft of the script has already been written by Safe House scribe David Guggenheim, and it's described as being "strong."

Carnahan is in early talks, but the studio is moving fast on the project as they are trying to get Will Smith on board to star in it as his next project after he's done shooting Suicide Squad. Smith starred in the first two films alongside Martin Lawrence, who is probably hoping like hell that this movie actually goes through.

I'd be happy with Carnahan directing the movie, but to be completely honest, I'd much rather see Bay do it instead of directing another Transformers movie.
