I wasn't the biggest fan of the first Sherlock Holmes film Guy Ritchie directed, but I absolutely loved the sequel! That was such a fun and smart movie, it's hard to imagine that they could mak e one better than that, but according to Jude Law, that's exactly what they plan on doing. Warner Bros. is currently in the process of putting the pieces together for the third movie, and in a recent interview with Empire, Law talks about it, saying,
"I hate celebrating anything I've done, but I'm so proud of those films. I think it was Joel Silver who said, 'Take it out of that dusty room and put it on the street'."
In regards to a third film, he says,
"I think Warners want it, and there's a lot of want from us as a team. We want it to be better than the other two. We want to make sure it's smarter and cleverer, but in the same realm."
So if it ends up happening, they are going to up the ante and give us something fans will be very happy with and excited about. There's no word on when it will happen, as everyone's schedules are all over the place right now, especially with Robert Downey Jr.'s. Law addresses that saying,
"It's a slow process. We're all busy. So getting us together to try to nail that has taken a little bit longer than we had hoped."
I would love it if a third movie actually happened. I like what they've done with these characters and the world in which they reside.
