Lady Gaga Checks in to AMERICAN HORROR STORY: HOTEL
Lady Gaga absolutely killed it with her Sound of Music tribute at the Oscars this past weekend. I mean, I've always enjoyed her radio hits to a certain degree, but this was the first time I'd ever heard her really belt it out, and she knocked it out of the park. Even Julie Andrews was blown away by it. Now the singer is continuing to make waves, since Deadline reports that she's the first confirmed cast member for the newest season of Ryan Murphy's FX series American Horror Story: Hotel.
No details about the season or Gaga's character have been revealed yet, but I'm honestly surprised it's taken this long for Murphy to cast her in the show. She obviously has no problem wearing ludicrous, attention-grabbing costumes, and Murphy's entire career has been built on the idea of create attention-grabbing television, so this seemed like an inevitability. As for Gaga herself, she appeared in a small part in Machete Kills and the dreadful Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, but this will be her first major acting role. It should be interesting to see how well she fits into Murphy's bizarre, twisted TV universe. We'll find out in October when the series returns to FX.
