Laurence Fishburne Joins Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt in Sci-Fi Film PASSENGERS

Laurence Fishburne is best known for his work in one of the most beloved science fiction movies of all time (The Matrix, not Event Horizon — though that one's fun, too), and over the course of his career, he's acted with some of the world's biggest movie stars. But I don't think he's ever co-starred with the two hottest stars on the planet at the same time...until now.

THR says Fishburne is in negotiations to star in Passengers, the sci-fi romance that has Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt in the lead roles. The Oscar-winning Lawrence is still riding high from her success in The Hunger Games franchise and generally being one of the most beloved actresses in America, while Pratt parlayed his Guardians of the Galaxy role into a starring slot in Jurassic World, which has since become the third highest grossing film of all time.

Passengers, written by Jon Spaihts, is set on a spaceship transporting thousands of people to another world, and follows a man who is accidentally woken up due to a malfunction and his decision to wake up a fellow passenger so he doesn't have to be alone. Michael Sheen is apparently playing a robot in the film, and there's no word yet on who Fishburne will be playing. The film will blast into theaters on December 21st, 2016.
