Michael Keaton Set to Star in IMAGINE AGENTS Comic Book Adaptation

Michael Keaton is jumping back into the world of comic book adaptations! He's set to star in and produce a new film called Imagine Agents. The comic that it's based was created by writer Brian Joines and artist Bachan, and it sounds like it will makes for an awesome movie.

I've never read the comic, but the story centers on the idea that "the imaginary friends of children are actually very real and centers on an organization titled I.M.A.G.I.N.E., which handles things when these figments get out of control." The story also follows "a jaded 20-year veteran agent who must mentor a young archivist, with a routine day becoming something much larger." Here's an additional description of the comic from Boom Studios:

WHY YOU WILL LOVE IT: Big action and bigger fun in the vein of Men in Black and Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, with a dash of Chew.

WHAT IT’S ABOUT: Ever try to wrangle an illiterate, 30-foot tall rock monster away from his 5-year-old best friend? Or calm down a 400 pound muscle-man rag-doll during her daily temper-tantrum? For Dave and Terry, it’s all in a day’s work. As agents for I.M.A.G.I.N.E., they are responsible for keeping your imaginary friends in-line... Little do they know that six-year-old Elliot and his best bear-friend, Furdlgurr, are about to be entangled in a plan to change everything!

I enjoy these kinds of wildly imaginative stories, and this seems like an incredibly fun project. I hope that it turns out to be a big hit for Keaton, who is making a comeback after being nominated for Best Actor in Birdman. The actor is also set to star in Kong: Skull Island, and he will play McDonald’s co-founder Ray Kroc in The Founder.

I'm excited to see what comes of of this Imagine Agents film project. I love the concept, It seems like something Pixar might have come up with.
