New Set Photo From ALIEN: COVENANT Features the Space Jockey

Another photo from the set of Alien: Covenant has been released featuring director Ridley Scott and the iconic Space Jockey chair. The mysterious Space Jockey was first introduced in Alien and its origin was revealed in Prometheus. It looks like it will now play a part in the new film. We'll just have to wait and see what that role will be.

Just in case you don't know, today is Scott's 78th birthday, and Alien: Covenant marks his 24th feature film. The guy has had an incredible career making some amazing movies. He's also being honored for his work as he is set to receive the DGA Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Achievement in Motion Picture Direction. DGA President Paris Barclay offered the following statement:

"Masterful in any genre, Ridley’s groundbreaking methods and peerless directing instincts have brought to life some of the most memorable films of our time, capturing the resilience of the human spirit and captivating the hearts and minds of audiences around the world. Stunning visuals, immersive worlds and powerful performances underpin his diverse body of work which ranges from Alien, Blade Runner and Thelma & Louise to Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, and, most recently, The Martian. Over the course of four decades, his trailblazing career has demonstrated the impact and importance of the director’s singular vision. For these reasons, and so many more, we are honored to present the Lifetime Achievement Award in feature film to Ridley Scott."

The award is obviously well deserved.
