Photo From ALIEN: COVENANT Gives Us a New Look at Katherine Waterston; James Franco Confirmed

Yesterday we got an exciting photo from Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant featuring what looked to be a small special ops military unit reminiscent of the Colonial Marines from Aliens. Today we've got two new photos from the film for you to check ou,t and one of them, from EW, gives us a new look at Katherine Waterston (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) as Daniels, and she's looking like a badass.

When talking to EW about the film, Scott said that "it’s hard to scare people. It’s a lot easier to make people laugh. But to really scare the sh– out of somebody? That’s difficult.” He's definitely looking to scare the shit out of people with this movie! About the director, Waterston said:

“He’s a master! He’s got the energy of 10 25-year-olds. He’s sadistic. He loves the thought of making people scream in a cinema.”

Sounds like fans of the Alien franchise are in for something special, and I'm excited to see what Scott brings to this next chapter in the story. You'll find the second image below, and it features some of the characters in their cryo-sleep chambers.

Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world -- whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

The movie also stars Michael Fassbender, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir (The Hateful Eight), Jussie Smolett (Empire), Amy Seimetz (Upstream Color), Carmen Ejogo (Selma), Callie Hernandez (Machete Kills), and Billy Crudup (Watchmen). James Franco also recently confirmed that he'll be in the movie as previously rumored. You can watch the actor confirm his involvement in the video below.

Alien: Covenant is set to be released on August 4th, 2017.

During our interview with James Franco and Bryan Cranston for Why Him, James Kleinmann asks James to comment on being cast in Ridley Scott's Alien Covenant. His surprised reaction says quite a bit and basically confirms it. For syndication or usage opportunities please contact syndication@heyuguys.co.uk.
