Rare 1983 Japanese Documentary Focuses on a Young Steven Spielberg

If you’re a fan of director Steven Spielberg, you’ve got to watch this rare 1983 Japanese documentary! I happened to see a link to AICN on my Facebook feed for this hour-long doc and it’s one of the coolest and most interesting things I’ve seen on the internet this week.

The doc gives us a look at Spielberg’s early directing career, shortly after he made Raiders of the Lost Ark and E.T. The year the doc was shot, the director was working on The Twilight Zone Movie.

Spielberg allows the documentary crew to tour his home, offices, and they were even allowed on the set of The Twilight Zone. The doc also gives you a look at a personal, candid side of Spielberg that many people probably haven’t seen before. It’s a very intimate look at the legendary filmmaker as he’s still in the early stages of finding success in his early career.

It’s a completely fascinating video to watch, and you’ve gotta check it out when you get a chance!
