Robert Englund Reveals His Favorite Freddy Krueger Kill From the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET Franchise

I think it's safe to say that A Nightmare on Elm Street's Freddy Krueger has had some of the most entertaining and amusing kills in any of the slasher movies. The creative team behind the franchise were always trying to get creative and come up with crazy new ways for Freddy to kill people in their dreams.

Fans of the franchise all have their favorite kills from the long-running franchise, but what about the actor who played Freddy for all those years? This past weekend, Robert Englund appeared at Monsterpalooza and took part in a Nightmare On Elm Street Q&A panel. It was there he revealed that his all-time favorite Freddy kill was the "Hearing Aid" death from 1991's Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare.

In the scene which you can watch below, Freddy appears in the form of Carlos's mother, who slaps him before turning into Freddy and inserting a super-sized cotton swab through his ear. Freddy takes Carlos's ear drum and his hearing aid. Freddy plays on Carlos's inability to hear by running behind him, dancing and shouting. Freddy returns his hearing aid, except the hearing aid now acts a parasite which latches itself onto Carlos's ear. The amplification of the hearing aid has been turned up, making even the quietest sounds 10 times louder. Freddy kills him by scratching a chalkboard until his head explodes.

Englund goes on to explain why this was his favorite scene saying that Freddy is an equal opportunity serial killer:

"It’s such a Cronenberg head explosion. The guys loved doing that. But yeah, what I love is that it’s a real politically incorrect sequence, ya know. And I hate the fact… I know many, I don’t even know what the politically correct term is anymore… I don’t think it’s disabled anymore – special needs actors. Gosh, I work with actors that are in wheelchairs or have problems with their sight, and they don’t just want to play goody goody people all the time. They don’t just have to be the good guy. Or the nice guy. Or the saint. Or the martyr. They want to be bad guys and villains as well. And I love the political incorrectness of that. Freddy’s an equal opportunity serial killer. He doesn’t care if you’ve got a hearing aid. He’ll get ya. That’s my favorite Freddy kill. Because of all the ramifications for it."

I also include a video of the panel that Englund took part in at Monsterpalooza. What's your favorite Freddy kill?
