ROGUE ONE's Ben Mendelsohn Will Play the Sheriff of Nottingham in ROBIN HOOD: ORIGINS

Rogue One star Ben Mendelsohn has just landed a new villainous role in Lionsgate's upcoming film Robin Hood: Origins. The actor will play the Sheriff of Nottingham, and it's really easy to imagine him in the role. He'll easily slip right into it and bring the character to life perfectly. This guy is a great actor and gives an incredible performance in everything that he does.

The story will center on Robin Hood, who is described as "a war-hardened crusader who joins a Moorish commander in an audacious revolt against the corrupt English monarchy."

Mendelsohn joins the previously cast Taron Egerton as Robin Hood and Jamie Foxx as Little John. The film will also star Eve Hewson as Maid Marian and Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey) will portray Will Scarlet, Robin Hood’s half-brother.

Robin Hood: Origins will be directed by Otto Bathurst (Peaky Blinders, Black Mirror) from a script written by Joby Harold (Awake). It's also being produced by Leonardo DiCaprio. I just hope they change the title before the movie comes out. Robin Hood: Origins sounds like a terrible TV series.
