Rose Byrne Coming Back for X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

During an interview with X-Men: Apocalypse, screenwriter Simon Kinberg revealed that Rose Byrne’s Moira MacTaggert from X-Men: First Class would be back as a “significant character” in Apocalypse. He teases how the character will play into the story. saying:

“We ended First Class with Charles having wiped portions of her memory of her experience with the X-Men. They are, essentially, strangers to her when she meets them. It’s certainly a rich relationship that we started to dig into in First Class, and would like to mine more in this one.”

Apocalypse is set in the early 1980s, about twenty years after First Class. It will be interesting to see the development of her character, especially in her relationship with Professor Xavier. Kinberg went on to say that Apocalypse “is the completion of the first arcs of Charles, Eric, Raven, and Hank, who are essentially our main characters. They’re such young actors and young characters, so there’s a lot more story to tell. But as a first phase of their lives, there is this feeling of closure by the end of the movie.”

There are more characters that are going to be introduced into this movie, and last week we learned that Alexandra Shipp will be playing play Storm, Sophie Turner will play Jean Grey, and Tye Sheridan will play Cyclops. We also might see some '80s centric characters as well, like Dazzler. When asked about that character specifically, he said,

“That’s the era that I grew up in. The music, the fashion, the videogames: We really want to integrate all of that in the movie, and have it infuse the movie with a different vibe. Could happen. We’re certainly looking at mutants that would fit into the period.”

Byrne also joins James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, and Nicholas Hoult. X-Men: Apocalypse is set to hit theaters on May 27th, 2016.

Kinberg also was asked again about the possibility of a Fantastic Four and X-Men crossover film, and this is what he said:

“The reboot of FanFour really needed to work in and of itself. We were doing something pretty radical with the tone of the movie. If we wanted to find a way to connect them to the X-Men, we could. There’s a lot of precedent from the comics.”

The first trailer for Fantastic Four surprised a lot of fans, and it would definitely be really interesting to see those two worlds collide.
