Here's a funny video featuring a mashup of 2 extremely different worlds: Pixar's Wall-E and the video game Battlefield 3. The video takes the audio straight from the Wall-E trailer and replaces the visuals with footage from BF3. The EOD Bot takes on the Wall-E character while the MAV fills in for EVE.

We've seen a lot of great movie trailer mashups, and after seeing this I'd like to start seeing more movie and video game trailer mashups. Check out the video below! Enjoy!

Here's the full list of award winners for this years British Academy Film Awards, presented by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). The Artist ended up taking home seven awards including Best Film, Best Actor, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Original Music and Best Costume Design. This really isn't that surprising, I have a feeling this movie will end up sweeping the Oscars as well. It's also not surprising that Meryl Streep took home the award for Best Actress. It always seems like she's always surprised when she wins, but the rest of us all know it's coming. Maybe she's just acting surprised. Then of course Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy won a couple of awards, unfortunately Gary Oldman didn't win Best Actor.

The film was directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) and stars Walker as Abe Lincoln.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is a re-imagining of the 16th President's life that depicts him as an axe-throwing, highly accomplished killer of vampires -- an obsession of his since those bloodsuckers supposedly took the life of his mother. Lincoln eventually learns that the vampires have fled to the southern states of the U.S. and are concocting a plan to conquer and enslave the entire country -- this in turn leads to the Civil War between the Union and the Confederacy, the latter of which the vampires are aligned with.

Disney's Lady and the Tramp has arrived on Blu-ray in a beautiful Diamond Edition. This classic animated film features the voice work of Barbara Luddy (Sleeping Beauty, 101 Dalmatians), Larry Roberts, Peggy Lee, Bill Thompson (Peter Pan, Alice In Wonderland), Bill Baucom (The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp, Judge Roy Bean), Stan Freberg (Stuart Little, Looney Tunes: Back In Action), Lee Millar (I Love Lucy, The George and Gracie Allen Show).

Lady and the Tramp is a timeless tale of romance that people from any generation can relate to. The story follows "a lovely young pedigreed cocker spaniel named Lady, who lives a pampered life, finds herself falling romantically for Tramp, an amorous street-smart pooch without prospects. Although they have fun together on several dates, including a sentimental spaghetti dinner by moonlight at Tony’s restaurant, their relationship is strained not only by Lady’s loyalty to her human family and their newborn baby, but by Tramp’s devil-may-care attitude that eventually gets Lady in trouble and tossed into the dog pound."

What makes this film so easy to relate to is the simplicity of the story. After a few minutes of watching, you start seeing Lady and the Tramp as people instead of dogs. The voice cast is one of my favorites from a classic Disney film. When I watched this film as a kid, I remember being so scared by the Policeman on the same level I was frightened by the forest fire in Bambi. Lady and the Tramp has so many classic moments. The moment between Lady and the Tramp at the restaurant with the spaghetti will live on in my mind forever. It was cool to see that scene again after so many years with my wife. Another memorable scene was the Si Am sequence. I have always liked dogs more than cats (sorry cat lovers), and that scene may be a reason why. The rat in the film is so dark and vicious and scared me as a kid.

This is a must-own disc for animation lovers. The Diamond Edition Blu-ray adds new life to the colors, as they seem to jump off of the screen. The colors are not bright and dazzling like a modern-day animated film. The classic muted tones are superb for this story. This form of hand-drawn animation took so many people and so much time, and it shows. The animators got the dog movements perfectly. The animation coupled with the work of the voice actors create such a memorable film that will stay with you long after it's done. The film would have looked fabulous in "Cinemascope" wide-screen in theaters, but it looks beautiful on Blu-ray.

Special Features:

The film is great alone, but the special features make this disc well worth the price of admission. The Making of the Lady and the Tramp is my personal favorite feature. Having grown up in Missouri, the video takes audiences on a journey into the creation of the film and into Walt Disney's life. This video extra is the longest of the features, and has multiple sections. Every question you could ever want to know is answered by The Making of the Lady and the Tramp. Learn about the story, the animation, the dogs, the voice actors and much more with these in-depth bonus features.

In Conclusion:

Take a journey back in time with this beautifully animated and crafted story. Lady and the Tramp is such a wonderful addition to any DVD collection. After re-watching this film, Lady and the Tramp has jumped to the top of my list of favorite Walt Disney movies. This is a perfect film to watch on Valentine's Day, but is a great film to watch whenever you need a dose of classic hand-drawn animation. Lady and the Tramp is currently available in Diamond Edition Blu-ray and DVD for a limited time.

Sharlto Copley (The A-Team, District 9) can be seen floating in space in the first image from The Europa Report. Sebastian Cordero directed the sci-fi film, which also stars Michael Nyqvist, Daniel Wu, Anamaria Marinca, Christian Camargo, and Karolina Wydra.

The Europa Report follows a "group of astronauts make the arduous journey to Jupiter's frigid, glacial moon Europa in search of extraterrestrial life.
DREDD takes us to the wild streets of Mega City One, the lone oasis of quasi-civilization on Cursed Earth. Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) is the most feared of elite Street Judges, with the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot – if necessary. The endlessly inventive mind of writer Alex Garland and the frenetic vision of director Peter Travis bring DREDD to life as a futuristic neo-noir action film that returns the celebrated character to the dark, visceral incarnation from John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra’s revered comic strip.

Whaat are your thoughts of this new footage? Are you looking forward to seeing Dredd in 3D September 21st?

Here's a crazy red-band trailer for an awesomely strange looking film called The FP. I had no idea what to expect before I watched this trailer, but damn, it looks interestingly hilarious, and very entertaining. The story is like The Warriors mixed together with Step Up, but the rival gangs fight each other with a dance video game. The trailer you are about to watch had me cracking up.

Check out this synopsis:

In a dystopian future, a relentless turf war rages. Two rival gangs feud for control of rural wasteland Frazier Park ('The FP') in the deadly arena of competitive dance-fight video game "Beat-Beat Revelation." After hometown hero BTRO is slain on the dance platform by thug leader L Dubba E, his protégé younger brother JTRO (Jason Trost) goes into isolation, vowing never to duel again. One year later, The FP is in ruins, and JTRO must find the courage to return and restore order in a ruthless battle for revenge that can only leave one man dancing. From the producers of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY and featuring narration by James Remar (THE WARRIORS), THE FP is a fury of fierce footwork, triumphant montages and neon street wear that Moviefone calls "a rare ready-made cult hit.

The movie is set to be released in select theaters on March 16th, 2012. Watch the trailer below, and tell us what you think!

Earlier this week we showed you three fun pieces of poster art imagining what Batman movies would be like if developed by 15 different talented directors. Hero Complex commissioned graphic artist Sean Hartter to create the series. They show us what Batman might have been like had it been directed by filmmakers such as Ridley Scott, Tim Burton, Matthew Vaughn, Guy Ritchie, Todd Phillips, Wes Anderson, Rob Marshall, Brad Bird, Guillermo del Toro, Ang Lee, Catherine Hardwicke, Martin Scorsese, Hayao Miyazaki, Neill Blomkamp, and Zack Snyder.

It will be interesting to see what Warner Bros. ends up doing with the franchise now that Christopher Nolan is finished with it. I doubt we will see any of these actually made into movies (other than Tim Burton's version because we already saw his vision). Out of these 15 choices, which would you most like to see get made?

A poster and stills for the upcoming Linda Lovelace biopic have arrived, thanks to The New York Times (via Comingsoon). Amanda Seyfied plays the titular role in Lovelance and is featured in the faux Deep Throat poster.

Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman directed the drama, which also stars Peter Sarsgaard, Sharon Stone, Juno Temple, Wes Bentley, Hank Azaria, Bobby Cannavale, Chris Noth, Robert Patrick, James Franco, Eric Roberts, Adam Brody, Chloe Sevigny, and Sarah Jessica Parker.

The film is based on Eric Danville's biography The Complete Linda Lovelace. The story follows "Linda Boreman's rise to fame as iconic porn star Linda Lovelace of 1972's Deep Throat, and her subsequent transformation into feminist, anti-porn activist Linda Marchiano. The story is told through the perspective of three interviewers at various stages of her life." Check out the poster (above) and two new stills below.

I always enjoy biopics and think Lovelace will be good. Seyfried will be great in the film, but I wonder how much nudity will actually be shown. Not because I am perverted, but because many stars often use body doubles. What are your thoughts on this news?

For those of you Smallville fans wanting to know what happened after the season finale and wanting to see how the story would continue, you will get your chance in the form of a digital comic coming from DC. Last year Smallville's story editor Bryan Q. Miller said he wanted to write a series of novels allowing the characters from the series to live on. Instead of a novel we are getting this digital comic series from Miller that will be called Smallville Season 11 and will be released weekly starting on April 13, 2012.

Here's a description of the comic from the official press release:

The new comic book series picks-up where the show left off (with Clark officially now as Superman!) and features other fan-favorite characters including Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, Chloe Sullivan-Queen, Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, and General Lane. The book features an all-star creative team—in addition to Miller, Smallville Season 11 creators include print cover artist Gary Frank (Superman Secret Origin), digital cover artist Cat Staggs and interiors by Pere Perez (Batgirl).

"Six months after Clark Kent donned the cape and took to the skies to save Earth from Apokolips... enter Season 11!" enthuses Miller. "New allies abound! New enemies afoot! And old friends return where they're least expected! Pere and colorist Chris Beckett have done a fantastic job of capturing the look of the show and the players, and Gary and Cat are knocking it out of the park on covers. I couldn't be more excited to help give seasoned viewers and new readers an all-access pass to Clark's first year in the cape."

As a fan of Smallville I'm actually looking forward to seeing the adventures of Tom Welling's Superman continue. Are you excited to see the story continue?

Space Themed Nike Shoes Are Cool Enough To Start A Trend

Fox News is reporting that Nike has been "looking to the stars" for inspiration for its new shoe line, and I couldn't be happier. Nike claims the inspiration for the designs came from observing supernovas, which they claim is arguably the most powerful force in the universe.

If this is a new trend to have wildly colored shoes, I'm all for it because these designs are magnificent as well as incredibly geeky, not to mention the soles are glow in the dark! I feel like it's light up shoes all over again... but for adults.

The supernatural thriller Legion is being turned into a Syfy series. Deadline reports that the 2010 movie, which starred Paul Bettany, is being being developed for the small screen. The film's director/co-writer Scott Stewart is going to direct and exec produce the TV adaptation. Vaun Wilmott (Sons Of Anarchy) is writing the script for the show being produced by Sony Pictures TV.

The film "chronicled the human race’s battle for survival against God’s legion of angels sent by him to bring on the Apocalypse. The people get an unlikely ally in Archangel Michael (Bettany), who disobeys God’s order and decides to help them." The show will be exec produced by Bold Films’ David Lancaster and Michael Litvak. The potential series has a budget of $26 million. The movie grossed $68 million worldwide. I liked the movie to an extent and can actually see this show doing well at SyFy.

What are your thoughts?

The web series airs on The Escapist on February 24th. Davin Lengyel and Geoff Lapaire created the series. The story follows "two human custodians working on board a battle station for the evil Empire. As they try to hold on to their jobs in the midst of an intergalactic civil war, the series offers a satirical and irreverent view of androids, clones, Dark Lords, and other science-fiction staples."

Here's a new image from the awesome looking Timur Bekmambetov-directed film Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. We've seen a lot of photos for this film recently, and I think it's about time we actually got ourselves a trailer to watch. I believe it should be coming out later this evening so stay tuned!

The image features Benjamin Walker as Lincoln running with his vampire killing axe of death. The story focuses on the 16th president as he embarks on a journey to rid the world of the evil vampires who murdered his mother. The cast also includes Anthony Mackie, Jimmi Simpson, and Mary Elisabeth Winstead.

Here's the Synopsis:

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is a re-imagining of the 16th President's life that depicts him as an axe-throwing, highly accomplished killer of vampires -- an obsession of his since those bloodsuckers supposedly took the life of his mother. Lincoln eventually learns that the vampires have fled to the southern states of the U.S. and are concocting a plan to conquer and enslave the entire country -- this in turn leads to the Civil War between the Union and the Confederacy, the latter of which the vampires are aligned with.

The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on June 22th, 2012.

DRACULA YEAR ZERO To Be Directed by Gary Shore

Universal Pictures is once again looking to get their supernatural horror film Dracula Year Zero into development. The movie was first announced back in 2008 when Alex Proyas (The Crow) was attached to direct it. Proyas ended up leaving the project due to budget issues and went to focus on his adaptation of Paradise Lost, which was recently cancelled, also because of budget issues. At the time, Sam Worthington was attached to star in the film as Dracula. Proyas is obviously having a rough time getting a movie off the ground these days.

Today Deadline reports that the studio is in negotiations with commercial director Gary Shore to direct the movie. It looks like this would be Shore's first feature film, although he previously directed a short called The Draft. But! Most of you might be familiar with Shore's artistic short called Wolverine Vs. The Hand, which you can watch below.

I'd be interested to see what what Shore would do with a feature film, as I think the guy has some talent. If he ends up taking the film we'll get to see what exactly he can do. Check out the video below, then read some details on the Dracula film...

Worthington is no longer attached the project, but here's a few little comments Proyas made while working on it. He said the script by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless will

put the whole legend on its head in every conceivable way and comes out with something that is both a kind of an ode to Bram Stoker’s original Dracula, in that it’s kind of a prequel to that, but it also redefines the character to such an extent that I found it quite exciting, so that is very much a kind of reinvention of that character and it’s why I got excited about it.

He goes on to talk about the story a bit saying,

It's Prince Vlad of Transylvania in the 14th century, and to save his kingdom and his family he takes his first step into darkness, It's his evolution into the monster that Dracula became.

He concluded by saying that the movie is going to be a more realistic take on the story.

What do you think about the possibility of Shore taking on this new Dracula film?

It looks like Disney is finally ready forward on their live-action Snow White film Order of the Seven. The studio been trying to get this film into production for years, and now that there's already two Snow White films coming out they are ready to move it into production. This version of the classic fairy tale character is going to be very different than what we've seen in the past and much more awesome.

Hanna star Saoirse Ronan is currently in negotiations to take on the lead role in the movie, which will be an action-adventure epic. This version of the story is set in China and the seven dwarves will be replaced by seven 19th century "international warriors belonging to a centuries-old order who have lost their way. They meet with an Englishwoman (Ronan) being chased by an ancient evil proves to be the catalyst for their redemption. While the project is set in China, the warriors will be from locales near (the U.S.) and far (Russia), and each warrior will have a unique fighting style."

Out of all the Snow White movies being made, this one sounds like it will end up being the best. I love the concept, and it sounds like it could be a ton of fun. I think it would be cool if Ronan actually ends up being cast in the film. If you've seen Hannah, then you know how much of a badass she can be.

What are your thoughts on Ronan possibly being cast in Order of the Seven?

GeekTyrant Daily Roundup, 2/10/12

STAR TREK Movie Video Game To Be Developed by Namco Bandai

Here's an interesting promo poster featuring Johnny Depp as Barnabus in Dark Shadows for a Tim Burton Expo that is being held at La Cinematheque Francaise in France. Wait... there's actually a Tim Burton expo!? I guess so.

What do you think of the poster? Depp is looking a little freaky, but what do you expect for a Tim Burton movie?

Here's the office expo description:

The Tim Burton event at La Cinémathèque française is not only a wonderful opportunity to see all of his films (including very limited-distribution short films) but also, thanks to the major exhibition designed by the New York MoMA in 2009 and shown here this spring, an opportunity to discover Burton's talents as a draftsman, painter, video director, photographer and inventor of colorful, amazing sculptures.

In the year 1752, Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet—or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy…until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive.

Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harboring their own dark secrets. Matriarch Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Michelle Pfeiffer) has called upon live-in psychiatrist, Dr. Julia Hoffman (Helena Bonham Carter), to help with her family troubles.

Also residing in the manor is Elizabeth’s ne’er-do-well brother, Roger Collins, (Jonny Lee Miller); her rebellious teenage daughter Carolyn Stoddard (Chloe Moretz); and Roger’s precocious 10-year-old son, David Collins (Gulliver McGrath). The mystery extends beyond the family, to caretaker Willie Loomis, played by Jackie Earle Haley, and David’s new nanny, Victoria Winters, played by Bella Heathcote.
