STAR WARS Fan Daniel Fleetwood Passes Away Days After Watching THE FORCE AWAKENS

Last week we learned that terminally ill Star Wars superfan Daniel Fleetwood was granted his dying wish to see a cut of J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Disney and Lucasfilm allowed him to see the film after a massive social media campaign with the hashtag #ForceForDaniel that was supported by the likes of Mark Hamill, John Boyega, and several other fans around the world.

It's with a heavy heart that I report that Daniel passed away last night in his sleep. He was 32-years-old and his wife Ashley posted the following message on Facebook early this morning:

"Daniel put up an amazing fight to the very end. He is now one with God and with the force. He passed in his sleep and in peace. He will always be my idol and my hero. Please hug uncle Marc for me and give Lucy lots of kisses. Rest in peace my love. This was the last selfie we ever took together."

Life is precious, friends. Live it to its fullest. Daniel was diagnosed with a rare connective tissue cancer known as spindle cell sarcoma this past July. He was only given 2 months to live, but he fought on for 2 more, and in that time he got to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens. That's what the power of fans uniting for a good cause can do.

Our hearts and prayers go out to Ashley and the rest of Daniel's family and friends.
