Stunning Cyber Vigilante Short — DONNING THE DIGITAL MASK: ANONYMOUS

Videos Short Film by Joey Paur

I've got an incredibly cool short film for you to watch called Donning the Digital Mask: Anonymous. It's more of a video presentation than it is a short, but the story is presented in a way that makes me believe a film based on the concept would make one hell of a great movie.

The video was sent in to us by its creator Chris Finn, who says that it gives us "a glimpse inside the internet-driven collective Anonymous, which has emerged as one of the leading hacktivist movements, targeting high-profile institutions with fearless cyber attacks."

The presentation was done in an awesomely slick and stylish way. Everything flows together extremely well. It's an impressive piece of work, and Finn created it as his Senior project at Savannah College of Art and Design. Here's a more detailed description of what you are about to watch:

Since its beginning on 4chan, the internet-driven collective Anonymous has emerged as one of the leading hacktivist movements, targeting high-profile institutions with fearless cyber attacks. Looking into how this collective of online hackers went from pranksters to vigilantes for global justice lead to an intriguing discovery of unique qualities that form Anonymous. A certain tonal element of Anonymous resonated with me and immediately translated into an exciting aesthetic I was eager to take on. There is a mesmerizing and compelling, but also terrifying quality to the dynamic spread of a collective who’s story is being written with every new day and operation.

Watch the video and tell us what you think about how the story of Anonymous is presented.
