TERMINATOR: GENISYS - Photo of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Villain Teased

We finally have our first official look at Arnold Schwarzenegger as the T-800 Terminator in Terminator: Genisys. The guy looks as badass as ever, especially with him in that leather jacket wielding a shotgun. We also have a new behind the scenes photo of a Terminator endoskeleton. In an interview with EW, the cast and crew talk about the film. Emile Clarke was asked about Sarah Connor being raised by a Terminator, to which she replied,

“Oh, she’s just a normal girl growing up in a world with a Terminator for a dad (laughs). What was her first date like? Did he kill many of the dates she brought home?”

I think that's a really interesting concept that could play out well. Producer David Ellison goes on to talk about Skynet's role in the story and how it may have evolved saying,

“Skynet no longer has to break down our front door because we line up in front of Apple stores to invite it in. We’re constantly giving away our privacy.”

It will be interesting to see how they implement that idea into the story. It was also revealed that we will see a younger model version of Schwarzenegger as the Terminator in the film. The filmmakers have re-created "the memorable scene in the original Terminator when the T-800 lands at L.A.’s Griffith Observatory, complete with Schwarzenegger’s 36-year-old face and ripped, naked body."

The report goes on to explain that they achieved this by creating a “synthespian,” or synthetic thespian, which is a state-of-the-art special effects tool that utilizes a body double and a scan of Schwarzenegger's face from the first film, merged with what his face looks like now. Ellison says,

“It’s the holy grail of visual effects. You create a walking, breathing human that doesn’t exist.”

Isn't that what they did in Terminator: Salvation? Only it was really poorly done. Hopefully they do a better job with those effects this next time around. Director Alan Taylor then teased what the main villain in the movie will be. It's described as a man/machine hybrid, and it's supposed to be a visual game changer.

“Part of the challenge is to dazzle people with something they haven’t seen before. There are elements in our main villain that are straining the capacities of our brilliant visual-effects people. So that’s a good sign.”

I can't wait to see what they came up with for this villainous character. The movie is set to be released on July 1st, 2015, and I'm hoping for the best. To see the previously released photos for the film click here
