The DEADPOOL Movie Will Explore Colossus in More Depth

It was exciting for X-Men fans to learn that Colossus would be in Ryan Reynolds' long awaited Deadpool movie. Until now, we had no idea how big of a role he would have in the story. Thanks to Andre Tricoteux, who is the motion capture actor who plays the character, we've learned that this movie will dive deeper into the character than any other X-Men film that has been made before.

During an interview with Tech Times, Tricoteux revealed:

“Yeah, I think you're going to get to see more of who Colossus is. Like I said, we kept him really traditional to the comic book. So yes, I think people will get a better sense of who he is. But I think there's still a lot more to be told about him. Colossus has been around in the comics since the '70s, so I mean, I think you could do your own movie on him. Yeah, you're going to get to see a little bit more of who he is and kind of his outlook on the world.”

The look of Colossus in the movie is fantastic. The filmmakers really nailed down the character design, and it's great that they are going to focus on his character a little more than what we've already seen. It's going to be fun to see how he will be utilized in the story. He comes off as being bigger and more brutish in this film, which is more like the comic book version of the character.

Who would have thought that a Deadpool movie might give us our best big screen interpretation of Colossus yet? I'm excited to see how this all turns out. Deadpool hits theaters on February 12th, 2016.
