THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG - Making of the Barrel Sequence

Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug was such a fantastically fun movie. One of my favorite scenes was the action-packed sequence when Bilbo and the dwarves were escaping Thranduil’s realm in wine barrels. The sequence is 7-minutes long, and we have an amazing behind the scenes video showing how it was made, called "Creating a Waterlogged Action Sequence-Design FX." The sequence was created with a combined 98 hours of footage from aerial shots, green-screen sets, live-action shoots, and complex CG environments. Watch how they pulled off the awesomeness below!
