THE SIMPSONS Gets Renewed for Seasons 29 and 30!

TV The Simpsons by Joey Paur

The ratings for The Simpsons are still as strong as ever, and Fox is still looking to ride its wave of success. The network has just renewed it for seasons 29 and 30, making it one of the longest-running series of all time.

This renewal will take its episode count to 669, which breaks the record set by Gunsmoke of 635 episodes. I seriously can't believe that The Simpsons is still on the air! I grew up on the show! It practically raised me.

The voice cast for the series has also been locked down, and that includes Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria, and Harry ShearerDana Walden and Gary Newman, Chairmen and CEOs, Fox Television Group said in a joint statement:

“This is yet another record-setting moment for what is truly a landmark series. The Simpsons has meant so much to the network, the studio and everyone at Fox, and its continued cultural impact around the globe is a testament to the combined brilliance of Matt, Jim and Al. Congratulations to everyone who works on this groundbreaking series – from the voice cast and producers to the writers and production team – you comprise one of the greatest collections of creative talent in the history of the medium. And to the millions of Simpsons fans around the world, thank you for watching all these years. We’re happy to tell you there’s lots more to come.”

I wonder how long this series will go until Fox does decide to cancel. If the ratings continue to stay strong it could keep going on for years to come. Congratulations to The Simpsons' creative team for continuing to make an incredibly entertaining show!
