Tom Hiddleston Addresses Those James Bond Casting Rumors

Last week a rumor broke that Tom Hiddleston was in talks to take on the role of James Bond in the next movie. Turns out those rumors might not be true, unfortunately. During a panel at Wizard World Philadelphia, the actor shared the disappointing news saying:

"I'm sorry to disappoint you everybody. I don't think that announcement is coming. But I'm very gratified to hear the enthusiasm. There's not much that I can say that I haven't already said, but I know... your guess is as good as mine to be honest."

I really hope he’s just messing around with us and someday in the near future it will be announced that he will be the new James Bond! The actor has previously said that he’d love to take on the role if it was offered to him.

“I simply love the theme tune, the tropes and the mythology. I love the whole thing. If it ever came knocking, it would be an extraordinary opportunity. And I’m very aware of the physicality of the job. I would not take it lightly.”

When talking about the possibility of taking on the role  previously, he said:

"I mean, as somebody who grew up with Sean Connery and Roger Moore, when you mention that there is a part of me that goes really? are you kidding? But I feel like who's going to be the next James Bond is, it's one of the nation's favorite pub conversations. It's up there with who is going to win X-Factor and when is the England National side going to live up to its full potential, and is Britain going to leave the E.U. and all that thing."

It would be such a shame if the producers of the James Bond franchise don’t get Hiddleston on board. But who knows, maybe they have someone on their mind that will be a better, completely unexpected choice. Any thoughts on who you want that person to be?
