Trailer for M. Night Shyamalan's New Horror Film THE VISIT

M. Night Shymalan went out and made a new horror film called The Visit, and today we have the haunting first trailer. Shymalan showed so much promise as a filmmaker with The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. Unfortunately, every movie he made after that just got progressively worse.

This new film returns Shymalan to his horror roots, and it tells the story of "a brother and sister who are sent to their grandparents’ remote Pennsylvania farm for a weeklong trip. Once the children discover that the elderly couple is involved in something deeply disturbing, they see their chances of getting back home are growing smaller every day."

There's also a teaser poster that you can see above which offers up three of “Grandma’s Rules”: 1. Have a great tim;. 2. Eat as much as you want; and 3. Don’t ever leave your room after 9:30 pm. These are probably rules they should follow, because their grandma and grandpa are freakin' insane! I have no idea what is actually going on, there's some pretty unsettling stuff that is shown in the trailer. Why in the hell are these old people scaring the shit out of their grandkids?!

Even though I don't care for the films that Shyamalan has made in recent years, this trailer certainly sparked some curiosity.

The film stars Kathryn Hahn (Tomorrowland, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty), Ed Oxenbould (Julien, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day), Deanna Dunagan (Unforgettable, Have a Little Faith), Peter McRobbie (Marvel’s Daredevil, Lincoln) and Olivia DeJonge (Hiding, The Sisterhood of Night).

The movie will be released in September of this year.
