Watch: Mind-Blowing Similarities Between MAD MAX: FURY ROAD and The MAD MAX Trilogy

George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road set the geek world on fire earlier this year, and for good reason: it's an insane, balls-out, practical effects-heavy masterclass of action filmmaking from a 70-year-old man. One of the biggest reasons it feels like a throwback to old-school filmmaking is because it literally is old-school filmmaking, proven by Pablo Fernández Eyre's excellent video essay that compares the new movie with Miller's original Mad Max trilogy. Watching dozens of nearly identical shots play out on top of each other is kind of insane, and it shows how Fury Road really is the culmination of the entire trilogy that came before it.
