Wicked Creepy Trailer for the Iranian Horror Film UNDER THE SHADOW

Under The Shadow screened at Sundance earlier this year, and I heard from everyone I talked to that it was a must-watch, awesome horror film. The movie was so popular that I wasn’t able to get into any screenings for it at the festival because they were all sold out. This trailer is the first footage that I’ve actually seen from the film, and I’m 100% on board! It looks great, and I love that it doesn’t really give any of the story away. It just offers viewers a great set up and a creepy-ass vibe. Here’s the brief plot summary:

As a mother and daughter struggle to cope with the terrors of the post-revolution, war torn Tehran of the 80s, a mysterious evil begins to haunt their home.

Under the Shadow is both written and directed by Iranian filmmaker Babak Anvari, and it’s set to be released on October 7th. This is a movie that I don’t want to miss out on, and if you’re a movie geek, then you won’t want to miss out on it either.

Opening in Theaters and on VOD/On Demand October 7, 2016! Shideh (Narges Rashidi) and her family live amid the chaos of the Iran-Iraq war, a period known as The War of the Cities. Accused of subversion by the post-Revolution government and blacklisted from medical college, she falls into a state of malaise.
