13 REASONS WHY Star Katherine Langford Cast in Frank Miller's CURSED Series at Netflix
THR is reporting that Netflix has tapped Katherine Langford, star of 13 Reasons Why, to star in another series, Cursed. Her character is named Nimune who is described as “[a] teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake.”
The premise is interesting, especially since it appears it won’t focus on Arthur or the Knights of the Round Table like so many other Arthurian stories. Netflix continues to describe Cursed as, “a coming-of-age story whose themes are familiar to our own time: the obliteration of the natural world, religious terror, senseless war, and finding the courage to lead in the face of the impossible.”
The series will be based on a book being written by Tom Wheeler and illustrated by Frank Miller. Zetna Fuentes is set to direct the first two episodes and serve as an executive producer alongside Wheeler, Miller, and Sileen Thomas. The book is set to be published in the fall of 2019, and I would imagine the series will release shortly after.
