Since comic book films are the new fad in Hollywood everyone is trying to get their hands on directing one. It will be required of every director in Hollywood to direct at least one comic book film in their career. Sam Mendes who directed 'Road to Perdition' also based on a graphic novel will come back to the world of comic book movies with the film adaptation of  'Preacher' for Columbia Pictures. Variety reports:

Created by writer Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillon, graphic novel focuses on the preacher of a Texas town, who is struggling to get by and is driven only by his strong moral sense. When the city is decimated by an otherworldly force, he embarks on a journey across the country to take on the evil.

Supernatural project is a departure for Mendes, who is best known for tackling suburban angst in such films as "American Beauty" and the upcoming Leonardo DiCaprio-Kate Winslet starrer "Revolutionary Road."

Sam Mendes has a very solid look to his films and the guy knows how to tell a story so I am confident that he will be able to make a very good 'Preacher' film. What do you think?
