Lethal Weapon 5 moving Forward?

Not to long ago we reported that Shane Black wrote a detailed script treatment for a Lethal Weapon 5 film that he wants to direct. Since that happened he signed on to direct a movie called Cold Warrior and Universal. Because of this most people assumed that 'Lethal Weapon 5' fell through and wasn't going to happen. Well, it looks like this may not be the case. ING recently spoke with actor Columbus Short who was or is involved with the new Lethal Weapon project. Short tells them that he will not act in the film but, claims the film is being fast tracked into production by Warner Bros.

So this is interesting. I hope Mel Gibson and Danny Glover knows that this is even going down. We haven't heard if he has seen the script or even if he is good to go on the project. If it is on the fast track though you would think everything is in place. Maybe Short just really is hoping this happens. Rumor has it he will play Murtaugh's son.

As far as the plot goes it sounds like Riggs and Murtaugh will be coming out of retirement to solve one last case. It should be interesting to see how this all plays out. I'm a huge fan of the Lethal Weapon movies so of course I am going to go park my ass in the movie theater to watch it.
