The new 'He-Man' flick went out and got itself a Director.
This is some interesting news, because last I heard the 'He-Man' project was not going anywhere. I guess that is no longer the case because according to the sources of Latinoreview the film now has a director.
His name is John Stevenson and the last and only film he has directed was 'Kung Fu Panda'.
From what the source said:
John Stevenson went in to the Silver offices, came in and did this killer take on He-man and the Masters of the Universe and got himself the job!
Only time will tell if this is true or not. I thought Kung Fu Panda was great! I think it was the best CG animated film DreamWorks has delivered so far. I am not against the choice of Stevenson taking on the film he did a great job with Panda. I have heard the script for 'Masters of the Universe' is amazingly epic. If He's got the vision and the talent then I can't wait to see what he brings to the table. At the same time it seems like a huge project for a guy that has not directed much. Most of his experience comes from working in the Art Department.
He-Man is yet another one of my favorite 80's cartoons that I hope doesn't get screwed over. What do you think?
