Timothy Olyphant to star in 'The Crazies'

As you may or may not know George Romero's horror film 'The Crazies' is getting remade by director Breck Eisner, and Timothy Olyphant has just signed to star in the film.  Not sure who Tim is? He played the bad dude in films such as 'The Girl Next Door', 'Live Free or Die hard', 'Hitman', and 'Deadwood'. Variety reports:

The story revolves around the inhabitants of a small Kansas town who are beset by death and insanity after a plane crash lets loose a secret biological weapon into the water supply. Olyphant is playing the town's sheriff. 

Scott Kosar and Ray Wright wrote the screenplay.

Michael Aguilar and Dean Georgaris are producing, with Romero executive producing. Overture's Sean Furst is overseeing for the studio. 

I think Olyphant is a pretty good actor. He has done some good things and some bad things. As for this Crazies remake, I don't think it's going to matter.
