I have enjoyed everything I have seen so far for this film. It looks spot on with the comic book, which I am also reading. Actually today issue #5 hits comic book stores so I will be picking up my copy.
This is pretty much our real first look at Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Red Mist. AICN was lucky enough to get invited to the Kick-Ass movie set over in London, and Moriarty wrote up a very detailed review of that visit which is a pretty good read if you are looking forward to this movie so make sure you head on over to their site to check it out. The report includes descriptions on characters and costumes we have not yet seen from the movie such as Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl and Nicholas Cage as Big Daddy. The report also describes in great detail the sets that were created for the film.
The photo above is the part where Red Mist and Kick-Ass meet for the first time.
"Now, Chris D'Amico has money in the film, so he's spent some coin putting together his Red Mist outfit, but even so, it's more like something some glam rock kid would have worn to a club in London in the ‘70s than like what we're used to seeing in superhero films so far," wrote AICN's Moriarty. "He's got an outrageous hairpiece that tops off the look, and the effect is that you're so busy looking at the outfit, you'd never notice the kid wearing it, exactly what his character wants. Well-played."
This movie is going to be pretty freakin awesome. There are a few people that may think it looks cheesy because of the costumes and stuff, but I think a lot of people are going to be in for a great surprise when this movie hits theaters.
