Venkman's Rant - Eli Roth
OH JOY! Eli Roth is Going to Make a PG-13 Film Everyone!
Who in the living frak cares! Mr. Roth is one of the worst filmmakers in the business right now. I hate watching people with no imagination or good sense of story telling make it in this business. Hollywood needs great storytellers. Torture porn is a regress in filmmaking. Here is a quote I found from Mr. Roth regarding the matter:
"I feel like I pushed the violence in R movies about as far as I can push it. I feel like I'm bled out. I wanna switch it up. Everyone I know has been saying 'When are you gonna do a movie my kids can see?' And finally, I'm gonna make a movie that 13-year-old kids can see."
Besides the point that he talks like he is in the 6th grade, I really would like to meet ONE KID that is out in the world saying “Man, when is Eli Roth going to finally make a movie I can see?!” And what parents out there are saying “When is the director of Hostel going to make a movie my kids can go see?” What the hell is he thinking?! But Finally! He is going to make a movie that 13-year-old kids can see. Well thank goodness for that. The 13 year old's will be so excited!
So what movie is he going to make? Well he’s almost done writing a script that was inspired by CLOVERFIELD and TRANSFORMERS. Like I said, lack of imagination. If he were to stop making movies the world wouldn’t miss it, and Hollywood would be better off.
