Watchman Photo: 1940 Minutemen!

by Joey Paur

Venkman Here - Aint it cool posted this photo earlier of the Minutemen. If you don't know who they are, well in WATCHMEN - it was the first TEAM of superheroes that formed in 1939 and pulled a BEATLES in 1949. The photo below features the classic olden day versions of Silk Spectre, Nite Owl, Captain Metropolis, Mothman, Silhouette, Comedian, Dollar Bill, and Hooded Justice. I love the details and style of this thing ,a superhero period film. I am so happy they didn't try to modernize it. I really like where Zack Snyder is taking this thing.

Warner Brothers is also putting together some DVD's for the Watchman franchise which is pretty cool. New York Times reports. One of the films is tentatively called "Tales of the Black Freighter," which follows a side "Watchmen" storyline about a shipwreck and will arrive in stores five days after the main movie Watchman rolls out in theaters.

The DVD will also include a documentary-style film called "Under the Hood" that will dive into the characters' back stories.

This all seems really cool! I just really love the era and style they of this film and comic book. I'm excited to see this movie.
