Update: Bilbo Baggins Casting Rumors! I hate Rumors!

by Joey Paur

Venkman Here - I hate casting rumors! Recently Latinoreview.com released casting rumors regarding Spiderman 4 and 5, that involved Patrick Fugit. Since then there has been a lot of damage control. The Studio is saying none of the casting rumors are true. Well now another source Daily Express is starting rumors, I guess people haven't really learned anything about posting rumors and the consequences that follow. Now they are saying their is another list out there that is confirmed by insiders (just like with Latino reviews insiders) regarding who will be cast as Bilbo Baggins in 'The Hobbit'. Now if I remember correctly Jackson and Del Toro have said Nothing on the matter. Sure, they have agreed on who is at the top of their list, BUT they also said no casting information would be released until at least after the script is done. So here is what Daily Express says:

Industry insiders insist the 29-year-old is in “pole position” to land the prestigious role. During the previous Lord Of The Rings film, Bilbo was played by Ian Holm.

“A number of names have privately been doing the rounds, including Daniel Radcliffe and Jack Black but James is the one the film’s bosses really want,” whispers our movie mole with the furry feet.

“They’re expected to have talks with him soon so hopefully it could be confirmed in the not too distant future.”

Hobbit director Guillermo del Toro remains tight-lipped on the matter but speaking about a recent meeting with producer Peter Jackson, he does admit: “I can tell you it’s down to a few names that we all agree upon. For our first choice, completely magically, we all said the same name.”

But they don't give the name people! Jack Black?! Holy hell people! At this point I say it is all speculation and people making up their own lists. Now James McAvoy is going to be bombarded by questions about this while he is trying to promote his new movie 'Wanted'. Chances are like Patrick Fugit, McAvoy has heard nothing about this "list". I'm not saying James McAvoy is a bad choice I like the idea but thats all it is, I'm just saying it's not true until Jackson or Del Toro say it is. As of right now it is a rumor and a lie. Please people let the filmmakers make these announcements! It all part of the fun for them! Don't take that away from them or the fans!
