Casting info on "X-Men Origins: Wolverine"
I was surfing the web today, and I found some interesting information on larcho.wordpress.com concerning the new 'X-Men Origins Wolverine' movie. I was on the fence when I heard that they are making this movie, because of Ratner's mess that he created. I didn't think they would be able to come back from such a lousy excuse for a film. The information I found today, however, gives me hope. What I have here is a list of the cast and what mutants they will play.
Liev Schreiber as Victor Creed / Sabretooth: Thank heavens they did not recast Tyler Mane as Victor Creed / Sabretooth as he did not suite the role as Wolverines arch nemesis.

Danny Huston as William Stryker: Brian Cox will not reprise his role because they needed a younger version of William Stryker in the Wolverine movie.
Lynn Collins as Kayla Silver Fox: Wolverines first love interest in his travels as a mutant, she also plays a big role later on in his life.
Daniel Henney as David North / Agent Zero: A member of the Weapon X program and an expert tracker with lethal marksman skills.
will.i.am as John Wraith / Kestrel: He was part of Team X along with Wolverine, Sabretooth, Maverick, Mastodon, and Silver Fox.
Taylor Kitsch as Remy LeBeau / Gambit: A Cajun thief who has the ability to charge any object he touches with kinetic energy, forcing it to explode. I’m down with Gambit, but he’s nowhere in the early years of Wolverine.
Dominic Monaghan as Barnell: He has the ability to manipulate energy and electricity.
Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson / Deadpool: A wisecracking and thoroughly insane mercenary who can heal like Wolverine. (Hell Yeah!)
Scott Adkins as Weapon XI: Weapon XI will feature in the end sequence fight scene against Wolverine.
Other cameos include: Tim Pocock as a young Cyclops. Asher Keddie and Tahyna Tozzi have unnamed roles as of yet. And poker player Daniel Negreanu has a cameo appearance.
What really sold me on this concept were the actors and the roles they are going to play. I am especially glad to see the characters Gambit and Deadpool. Those are two of my favorite comic book characters and I am very happy to see that they are going to be brought to the big screen.
Don't get me wrong, I do have my concerns. The director of this film is Gavin Hood. I did like his vision in the movie "Rendition", but I am not sure he has the chops to bring this to life. A lot of us were hurt by the way Ratner ended the X-Men series, and need someone with a strong ability to bring this back for us. Hugh Jackman reprises his role as Wolverine. He has always been my favorite choice for this role. I just hope the director allows the character to be shown in his raw and violent state. I think the only way that they will be able to accomplish this is by it getting an "R" rating.
There are a lot of hopes and fears that go into this movie. Let's just hope that when the credits roll, our geeky needs will be satisfied. Let me know what you think.
